Nice House
House was nice! It was clean and over a good fit for our family vacation. It was different to us that there was no cleaning supplies at the house. The outside shower was not working and neither was the outside pool lights. The coffee pot was also chipped. We didnt use the yard, just the pool area. We apricate the beach chairs and cart although they were not in the best condition. The pool was great! its not very deep so it was great for my youngest. We do wish there would have been a pool float or pool toys. We liked that there was kids cups and dishes. The kids room was a great fit for our three kids. House is in a great location. It is a difficult walk to the beach with no sidewalk. There are lots of games and books at the house for rainy days.

Family vacation
Pros- the house is nice and very clean. The view from the upper deck was wonderful. The pool was great.
Cons-the house is on a busy street with no sidewalks. We had some small maintenance issues that were addressed quickly however some of these issues are things that should be taken care of before renters arrive. We had smoke detectors going off in the middle of the night. Batteries hadn't been changed in 4 years (1/8/22) and the detectors themselves were 12 years old. Renters pay a lot of money and shouldn't have to spend some of the week dealing with maintenance issues that could've and should've been addressed a lot sooner.

A wonderful vacation!
We had a wonderful vacation at the Sandbox. The location is great- an easy walk to both the beach and Target. The house itself is lovely with lots of ocean views from the top floor. It has a nice layout that worked well for our family and the pool and hot tub were enjoyed. We also liked the ceiling fans (indoors and on decks) plus the retractable awning outside.
The management company was very responsive and helpful with a couple of maintenance concerns we had.
All in all, we had an awesome experience!

Very Nice House!
The house was very clean and tastefully decorated. The pool area was nice, but weeds and brush needs to be cleaned up. The main thing that I didn't like is there was no cabinet space for groceries and it needs a complete set of assorted knives including steak knives.

Stayed Friday-Monday, beautiful property We had a great experience. An issue with the air conditioning on the 2nd floor was discovered before we arrived. A tech was dispatched immediately and worked until it was completely fixed within a couple of hours. There were no additional issues with anything on the property.

LOVE this house!
Such a lovingly kept home! The rental company is top notch. Responsive, helpful, informative. We had just a couple hiccups that were handled so quickly, they aren't even worth mentioning in detail: They did not detract from our joyful stay. Great house for a family
This house was exactly what we were looking for when we booked in OBX. Management was helpful when we arrived a little earlier than our original scheduled check in time and was able to get us in about an hour early. The house, pool, and hot tub were all clean. The beach access was only a very short walk and was very doable with our children. There were a lot of spurs in the back yard, so just make sure you wear shoes. Overall, we had a great stay and would book this home again.

Family Trip Heaven
The house is very nice and about one block from the public beach access. It was a beautiful house, but the only thing is for being a pet friendly house, the yard was absolutely not pet friendly. The pool/ patio are was great. The yard on the other hand was pretty bad. The grass and weeds are out of control and the sand spurs are horrible. There’s a nice volleyball net in the yard, but cannot use it due to the condition of the yard area. Overall, that did not ruin our trip, and I would absolutely stay here again if the yard was taken care of. Hope to see you next year house!

Sandbox Rental
The sand box was a great house for me and my family to stay. The house was very clean and organized. The house was a great fit for everyone and was in the perfect location for several restaurants and bars. Overall this was a great experience.

Conveniently Located Rental
We had a wonderful stay at The Sandbox, conveniently located in walking distance to the beach. I would NOT recommend this property to anyone who has dogs due to the high volume of sandspurs in the backyard, making it unusable. Other than that, The Sandbox was the perfect home base for my family.

Thank you for your review and for bringing this to our attention, as we understand the concern for pets. We agree, The Sandbox is located in a central area with something for everyone! The owner is on a sandspur treatment plan to rectify this issue. Sandspurs are native to the Outer Banks and although we cannot fully prevent any issues caused by them, we do our best to prevent this from impeding on our guests stay.

This home is located within a great distance to everything including the beach, shopping and restaurants. For the most part, the home was very clean with the exception of the outside shower area. Also, if you are planning to use the backyard for your dog, please note the yard is full of "sticky weeds" which would not be good for your dogs paws. We enjoyed our stay
